North Korea has officially begun its spy satellite program after what it called a successful launch of the Malligyong-1 satellite last month.

The office operating North Korea's newly launched spy satellite will run as a military intelligence organization, state media said Sunday.

North Korea reported that its satellite, launched on Saturday, has started transmitting information to the army's intelligence bureau and other units, according to Reuters. According to the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (CTAK),
